Learning to Learn Through Micro-Credentials in a Regional Setting

A project that focuses primarily on vulnerable groups and aims to enhance their self-efficacy and increase their chances of finding employment in their local area/region through the use of micro-credentials.

About

The EU-funded project “Learning to Learn Through Micro-Credentials in a Regional Setting” (L2L MicroCred) focuses on making micro-credentials more accessible to vulnerable groups, helping them build skills, gain employment, and improve social inclusion. While micro-credentials are becoming an important tool for the workforce, they currently benefit mostly those with higher education.

The project will:

  • Assess needs and develop a toolbox for micro-credentials.
  • Design, test, and evaluate high-quality courses with target groups.
  • Share results so that institutions worldwide can adapt the methods and courses.

Partners include University of Limerick (Ireland), LUMSA (Italy), Central Queensland University (Australia), and Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (Norway), which coordinates the project. It has received €400,000 in funding and aims to strengthen both employment opportunities and regional economic development by linking education with local labour market needs.
