Design
DESIGN YOUR LEARNING ACTIVITIES
Turn your storyboard into simple, inclusive learning activities
Design each activity fully as you go
Focus on what learners do, not what you deliver
Use this core pattern each week/module:
Learn → Discuss → Apply
- Learn (2–3 activities) → build understanding
- Discuss (1 activity) → build confidence
- Apply (1 activity – essential) → build real skills
Keep this structure simple
Use the template for every activity as you create it:
1. Activity title
- Clear and simple
2. Activity type
- Learn / Discuss / Apply
3. What learners do
- What action do they take?
- What do they produce?
Be specific and practical
4. Format
Examples:
- Video
- Reading
- Discussion
- Practical task
Keep tools simple and accessible
5. Time required
- 20–40 minutes max
- Total weekly workload: 2–3 hours
6. Instructions
- Plain, clear language
- Step-by-step if needed
If it could be misunderstood → simplify
7. Support
- Examples for learners
- Tips or guidance
Especially important early in the course
8. Output
- What learners produce
Make expectations explicit
9. Accessibility check
- Works on mobile?
- Clear, simple language?
- Manageable reading load?
- Option for audio / alternative format?
